Merge PDF joins files end to end. That works until the pages you need are scattered: a cover in one file, three pages from a report, a signed form in the middle and an appendix at the back. Combine & Reorder shows every page of every file you add in one grid, marked by the file it came from. Drag any page anywhere, turn the sideways ones, drop the ones you don't want, and download a single PDF in exactly that order.
How to use Combine & Reorder PDF
- Add two or more PDF files. Every page of every file appears in the grid, file by file, in the order of the file list.
- Drag pages into the order you want. Pages from different files can sit side by side, and a small coloured mark shows which file each one came from.
- Select pages to turn, duplicate or delete them with the buttons above the grid, or add a blank page where you need a divider.
- Select Combine PDFs. Only the pages left in the grid are kept, in the order shown.
- Open the download and check the order. If a page is out of place, move it in the grid and run it again.
How it differs from Merge and Organize
- Whole files in a row: Merge PDF joins complete files one after another. It suits files that should stay in one piece.
- One file rearranged: Organize PDF rearranges the pages of one PDF, and can insert pages from another file along the way.
- Every page in one pile: Combine & Reorder starts with all the files at once and treats their pages as one pile, so mixing pages across files takes a single drag.
What the combined file keeps
- Pages are copied whole: Text, images, links and page size come across untouched. Nothing is re-encoded, so scans keep their quality.
- Turned pages stay turned: A page you rotate in the grid is saved rotated, so it reads the right way up in any viewer.
- What is left behind: Bookmarks, form fields and attachments from the source files are not carried over. Add bookmarks afterwards with PDF Bookmarks and TOC if you need them.

Limitations to know
All files are uploaded together and count towards the limit for a single request. Tiles show the file name and page number instead of previews. Password-protected files need unlocking first, and bookmarks, form fields and attachments are not carried into the result.
Combine & Reorder PDF: common questions
How is this different from Merge PDF?
Merge PDF keeps each file in one piece and puts the files end to end. Combine & Reorder breaks every file into pages first, so you can mix pages from different files in any order and leave some out.
Can I use the same page twice?
Yes. Select the page and choose Duplicate. The copy appears next to it and can be dragged anywhere, which is handy for repeating a cover or a divider page.
How do I tell which file a page came from?
Each tile shows the file name and the page number within that file, and the coloured mark in its corner is different for each file in the list.
What happens to pages I delete in the grid?
They are simply left out of the combined PDF. Your original files don't change, and nothing stays on the server once the download is delivered.
Will the combined file be larger than the originals?
It is roughly the size of the pages you kept, added together. Pages are copied without being compressed again, so run Compress PDF afterwards if you need a smaller file.
