ODS is the spreadsheet format of LibreOffice Calc and other OpenDocument editors. Like any spreadsheet it's designed for editing, and people without compatible software can't open it at all. ODS to PDF produces fixed pages from the workbook, using the page styles and print ranges you set in Calc, so tables and charts arrive ready to read.
How to use ODS to PDF
- In Calc, define print ranges and a page style with the orientation and scaling you want.
- Add the ODS file.
- Select Convert to PDF.
- Download the PDF and check how wide tables were split.
Page styles control the output
- Each sheet has a page style: In LibreOffice Calc, each sheet uses a page style that sets paper size, orientation, margins, headers, footers and scaling. The PDF follows those settings, and print ranges decide which cells appear.
- Without a print range, Calc prints the used area of each sheet and splits wide tables across pages.
- Fit-to-width scaling: Choosing a fit-to-width scaling mode on the Sheet tab of the page style keeps columns together on each page.
What appears on the pages
- Visible sheets in order: Visible sheets are converted in order, with cell formatting, borders and charts, and formulas are shown as their results.
- Hidden content is skipped: Hidden sheets, rows and columns are skipped, as they would be on paper.
- Interactive features: Because a PDF is static, interactive features like AutoFilter drop-downs, form controls and pivot table buttons aren't usable, and they appear only as they look on the sheet, if at all.

Why is my sheet split across many pages?
The used area is wider or longer than the page at the current page style. Set a print range and fit-to-width scaling in Calc, then convert again.

No. Cells display their results, just as they would when printed.
Why is this tool unavailable on some servers?
ODS conversion needs LibreOffice installed on the server. When it's missing, the tool reports that clearly.
