Sometimes a PDF needs to be shown, not read: a report page in a meeting, a design in a pitch, or a handout that has to sit inside an existing deck. PDF to PowerPoint places each page on its own slide as a high-resolution image, sized to the shape of your pages. You can present, reorder and add your own slides around it.
How to use PDF to PowerPoint
- Add the PDF.
- Select Convert to PowerPoint.
- Download the PPTX and open it in PowerPoint, Keynote, LibreOffice Impress or Google Slides.
- Add titles, notes or extra slides as needed.
Pages become slide images
- One page per slide: Each page is rendered at 150 DPI and placed on its own slide.
- Slide size and fitting: The presentation's slide size is set to match the proportions of the first page, so an A4 portrait document produces portrait slides and a landscape deck produces landscape slides. Any page with a different shape is fitted inside the slide without stretching.
- They look exactly like the pages: The slides look exactly like the PDF pages because they're high-resolution pictures of them.
What's and isn't editable
- The text can't be edited: Because each slide is an image, the text on it can't be edited directly.
- What you can still do: You can still crop, resize and animate the image, draw on top of it, and add text boxes, speaker notes and new slides.
- When you need editable text, copy it from the PDF or get it back with PDF to Word. Then paste it into your own slide layouts, where it'll also be easier for the audience to read.
Presenting well from a PDF
- Dense pages don't project well: Dense document pages rarely read well on a projector.
- Show only what matters: Show only the pages that matter, which you can pick out first with Extract Pages, and use PowerPoint's crop tool to zoom into details.

Can I edit the text on the slides?
Not directly. Each slide shows the page as an image, so add text boxes on top or copy text from the original PDF.
Why are the slides not 16:9?
The slide size follows the shape of your PDF pages so nothing is stretched or cropped. You can change the slide size in PowerPoint afterwards if you need to.
Will the slides look sharp on a projector?
Pages are rendered at 150 DPI, which is sharp at typical projector and screen resolutions. Very small print may still be hard to read at a distance.
Why is this tool unavailable on some servers?
It needs the python-pptx package on the server. When it's missing, the tool reports that clearly.
